The AAEC was conceived on the belief that in-house lawyers have the power and responsibility to create better corporate citizens. This responsibility has monumental significance to our communities because as we have seen, the impact of companies is boundless and can affect everything from the environment to banking to healthcare.
We at AAEC understand that, in order for the Central American in-house community to successfully advance their interests and those of society at large, it must be a united, organized and connected group. That is why it is our mission to provide our members with the platform and tools necessary to create a fairer and more equitable Central America, one client at a time.
Better companies, better countries
The AAEC initiative was proposed by the managing partners of the Central American law firm Aguilar Castillo Love at a LACCA roundtable held in Antigua, Guatemala on September 11, 2017. Select attendees of this meeting formed the Steering Committee that is currently leading the development of the association.
We want to be an organization that everyone can be proud to be a part of. Because of this, we pledge to hold ourselves to the highest moral and ethical standards and to always do what’s right, not what’s easiest.
